The control bar results from the figure since in the ideal case the strings lead up vertically. Tying on the puppet to the control bar often involves a long process of trying to find the ideal solution since it is only when both the figure and the control bar are perfectly matched that a marionette in the spirit of Kleist is created:
"... the limbs which were nothing but pendulums, followed mechanically by their own accord, without the puppet-master having to do anything else.“
After careful study of their anatomy, the shapes of the animals are sketched and then developed individually as to their joint technology. The manufacturing process is very often long and complex.
